Veg Chowmein - Chowmein is also common and popular in Indian Chinese. In India, it was introduced by the Chinese of Calcutta. It is usually offered Hakka or with gravy. Catering to vegetarian diets, there is an Indian variant, vegetable chowmein, which consists of noodles with cabbage, green peppers, and carrots with Soy Sauce, Green Chilli Sauce and Vinegar. It is also extremely popular Indian Street Food.
INGREDIENTS
Noodles –150 gms Oil – 2 tbsp/ 30 ml Chopped Garlic – 2 tbsp/ 30 gms Green Chilli – 4 Onion –1 medium Cabbage –1 cup Green capsicum/ Pepper – ½ cup/ 125 gms Red capsicum/ Pepper –½ cup/ 125 gms Carrot –½ cup/ 125 gms Spring onion –3 tbsp/ 45 gms Salt: As per taste Black pepper powder –1 tbsp/ 5 gms Vinegar –1 ½ tbsp./ 23 ml Green Chilli Sause - 1 tbsp/ 15 ml Soya Sause –2 tbsp/ 30 ml or Dark soya Sause -1 tbsp/ 15 ml
METHOD
Add noodles in boiling water
Cook until noodles is done 90% (2-3 mins approx.)
Strain out the boiled noodles in a clean bowl
Add a little oil and toss it to prevent it from sticking together
Spread the noodles on a clean plate
Now take a frying pan and add oil heat in a mid flame
Add Chopped Garlic, Green Chilli, Onion, Cabbage, Green capsicum/ Pepper, Red capsicum/ pepper, Carrot, Spring onion, Salt as per taste, Black pepper powder, Vinegar, Green Chilli Sause, Soya Sause or Dark soya Sause and mix it all well
Cook it for 2 minutes
Now add the boiled noodles and mix thoroughly
Serve it in a clean plate and garnish with Green Onion
