Tandoori Chicken - in Pan & in Oven

Tandoori Chicken is a chicken dish traditionally prepared by roasting chicken (Leg Pieces, Breasts and Thighs) marinated in yogurt, lemon juice, and spices in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. and the meat is slashed to the bone in some places helping the infusion enter, and the chicken to cook more hastily.

We made this Tandoori Chicken in 2 styles in Pan and Oven to show the viewers, options of making it simple and easy. :)


INGREDIENTS

Chicken Legs – 3 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp / 5 gm Salt – 1 tbsp / 15 gm Yogurt/Dahi – ½ cup Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp / 30 gm Lemon juice – 1 tbsp / 15 ml Ginger-garlic Paste – 2 tbsp / 30 gm Kashmiri Red Chili Powder – 1 tbsp / 15 gm Garam Masala – 1 tbsp / 15 gm Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp / 15 gm Dry Mango Powder – 1 tbsp / 15 gm


METHOD


For Chicken Marination – Method:

  • Take a Chicken Leg Piece, Make some slits

  • In a Large Bowl, take slitted Chicken Legs, add Turmeric Powder, Salt, and Massage it well.

  • In another small bowl, add Yogurt (Dahi), and whisk it

  • Followed by, add fresh cream, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, dry mango powder, and whisk it well.

  • Now, Pour the mixture into the Chicken bowl and Massage it well so that the mixture marinades well into the chicken.

  • Cover it and keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Method for Oven – Tandoori Chicken (Bain-marie Style)

  • For the Bain-marie method – In a baking tray add some water, place a rack, Brush some oil on the rack, and place the marinated chicken on the rack.

  • Quick Tip: This Bain-marie style which is water bath cooking in the oven, will help the cooking evenly and chicken juicy.

  • Pre-Heat the Over to 400 F and place it in the oven for 30 minutes.

  • Take Out and Serve Hot with Sliced Onions, lemon and sprinkle some chaat masala and green chutney!

Method for Pan – Tandoori Chicken

  • In a pan, heat oil (2 tbsp), add the marinated chicken and Cover & cook for a few minutes on a low to Medium Heat flame.

  • Add the remaining marinated masala/sauce on both sides of the chicken.

  • Keep cooking till chicken is cooked properly.

  • Take Out and Serve Hot with Sliced Onions, lemon and sprinkle some chaat masala and green chutney!
