The word “Tikka” (Tike in Turkish, and Tikə in Azerbaijani) is a Persian word, meaning "bits" or "pieces". Chicken tikka is a popular Chicken Starter or Appetizer dish in India and other Asian countries. It is consist of small pieces of boneless chicken marinated in Indian spices and yogurt and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour before cook it over a Pan or Oven or Tandoor.
INGREDIENTS
Chicken – 600 gm
Hung Yogurt (Dahi) – 3 tbsp/45 gm
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp/30 gm
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 1 tsp/5 gm
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp/5gm
Garam Masala – 1 tbsp/15 gm
Chaat masala – 1 tsp/5 gm
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp/2.5 gm
Salt – As per taste
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp/15 ml
Mustard Oil – 1 tbsp/15 ml
Besan (Gram flour) – 1 tbsp/15 gm
METHOD
Take boneless chicken and cut it into “Tikka” size
Marinate Chicken with Hung Yogurt, Ginger Garlic Paste, Kashmiri Chilli Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Garam Masala, Chaat Masala, Turmeric Powder, Salt, Lemon Juice, Oil.
Keep the marinated chicken in fridge for atleast 1 hour.
Add Besan before arranging the chicken pieces onto the skewers.
Heat a Pan, spread some oil and place chicken skewers.
Flip occasionally to cook the Chicken evenly.
Once Tikka is ready, serve it with onion and green chutney.
