Besan Ladoo recipe | Besan ke Laddu

Besan ladoo is a popular Indian sweet dish made of besan (Chickpea flour or gram flour), sugar, and ghee. Besan is roasted in ghee till golden brown appearance with a nutty fragrance. Then sugar is added to it. It has a long shelf life, and It often served at festivals, family events. Garnish with some chopped Pistachio on the top to make it more delicious!!!

INGREDIENTS

Clarified Butter (Ghee) - ½ cup/100gm Gram Flour (Besan) - 2 cups/240 gm Water – 2 tbsp/30 ml Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp/1 gm Melon seeds - 2 tbsp/30 gm Green Cardamom - ¼ tsp/1 gm Granulated Sugar - 1.5 cup/250 gm Pistachios for Garnishing

METHOD

  • In a pan heat Clarified Butter (Ghee), save some for later.

  • Add and roast the Besan (Gram Flour) at low flame.

  • Stir continuously until Besan turns Golden Brown and Grainy.

  • Sprinkle some Water and add the remaining Ghee.

  • Add Turmeric Powder, Melon Seeds and cook until Besan start releasing Ghee.

  • Switch-off the Flame and bring it to Warm temperature.

  • Add Green Cardamom, Granulated Sugar gradually and mix well.

  • Prepare Ladoo.

  • And finally Garnish with Pistachios on the top to make it more delicious!
