2 Coconut Drinks – Pina Colada & Painkiller | Virgin Pina Colada | Painkiller Mocktail
The name piña colada (Spanish) literally means "strained pineapple", a reference to the freshly pressed and strained pineapple juice used in the drink's preparation. In 1978, the Piña Colada was named Puerto Rico’s official national drink, A frothy mix of creamy coconut milk, pineapple and rum, the Piña Colada was invented at Caribe Hilton Puerto Rico.

A twist on the Piña Colada, the Painkiller is a rich and fruity cocktail that stays true to its name: It will cure what ails you. Usually made with dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut, the drink was created in the 1970s at the Soggy Dollar Bar in the British Virgin Islands. The rich blend of rums pairs with the juices and coconut cream to bring the tropics right into your glass. Dust a little fresh nutmeg on top for aromatics and spice. Truly a Painkiller!
The Painkiller recipe is easy to make and even easier to drink. Mix one up on the beach, in the backyard, or anytime you want to channel a tropical vacation.
INGREDIENTS
Pina Colada Ice-Cubes Pineapple Juice – 240 ml Pineapple Chunks –½ Cup Coconut Cream - 100 ml The pain Killer Ice-cubes Pineapple Juice – 120 ml Coconut Cream – 30 ml Orange Juice – 30 ml Nutmeg - For Garnishing
METHOD
Pina Colada
In a blender, take Ice-cubes, Pineapple juice, Pineapple chucks, Coconut Cream.
Blend to creamy consistency and transfer into a glass.
Painkiller
In a Cobbler Shaker add Ice-cube, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Coconut Cream.
Shake well for 10-15 seconds.
Pour it in to a glass and garnish with Nutmeg powder.
