Tawa Pulao | No Onion No Garlic

This Famous Mumbai Street Food is so yummy and delicious, and you can make it super-fast. We made this dish for Navratri Special, it’s a fusion of rice and pav bhaji where you simply mix the rice with bhaaji. But we twisted the recipe and fried the vegetables with Kashmiri Red Chili Paste as everyone can relish this dish during Navratri’s.

INGREDIENTS

Coriander Powder – 1 tsp Garam Masala – 2 tbsp Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp Salt – As per taste Turmeric – ½ tsp Amchoor – 1 tsp Potato – 2 Medium Green Bell Pepper – 1 Cup/200 gms Paneer – 1 cup/ 250 gm Cabbage – 2 Cup/150 gm Mix Veg – ½ Cup Dhaniya – ½ Cu Pudhina – ½ Cup Kaju (Cashew nut) – ¼ Cup Ghee – 2 tbsp Oil – 1 tbsp Chilli Paste Whole Kashmiri Chilli – 6 Nos Imli – 1 inch Rice – 1 Cup Star Anise – 1 Nos Green Cardamom – 4 Nos Black Cardamom – 1 Nos Cinnamon – 1 inch Jeera – ½ tsp Cloves – 5 Nos Oil – 1 tbsp/15 gm


METHOD

  • Soak whole Kashmiri Chilli and Imli in hot water for 15 mins

  • Add whole spices and Oil in 5 cups of Boiling Water

  • Add Soaked Rice

  • Once Rice cooked 95%, strain the water

  • Grind soaked Kashmiri Chilli and Imli

  • Heat a pan and add Ghee

  • Fry Kaju (Cashew nut), and keep it aside

  • Fry potatoes till its 80% done

  • Now add on Cabbage, Green Bell Pepper, Mix Veg and mix well

  • Add Chilli Paste and mix well

  • Cover and cook till oil separates and add Paneer

  • Add Haldi, Dhaniya Powder, Garam Masala, Amchoor, Salt

  • Mix well and add on Rice and fried Kaju

  • Cook for 2 minutes on low flame

  • After that switch off the flame

  • Add Dhaniya leaves and Mint leaves

  • Mix well and Tawa Pulao is ready to serve :)
